Everyone on a diet needs more than just one weight loss tip. Here are some.
Before you start your diet, make a list of 10 ways you envision your life will be better once you lose weight. This is a powerful way to keep you motivated.
Do you know a woman who dieted successfully and kept the weight off? Talk to her she’s just the person to give you new ideas about how to do it.
No matter where you are in the diet process, make yourself this promise: whenever I cheat, I will forgive myself and resume my diet as soon as possible. This will prevent you from giving up because of a slip.
Reducing stress in your life greatly contributes to diet success. Develop effective ways to handle things like fatigue, anxiety, having too much to do, being stretched to the limit. Then you won’t need to eat in order to deal
with these things.
During your weight loss journey, especially at the beginning, try to control your environment. As much as possible, avoid people and situations that may be too tempting in terms of overeating.
When you are doing something as important as changing your eating habits to lose weight, a helping relationship can be critical.
See where you can get some extra support from a group, a family member, or a nonjudgmental friend.
Belief in yourself is essential if you are to solve a long-term eating problem. To strengthen your feeling that you can do it, make a list of all the abilities you have that will help you get there.
Don’t be discouraged if this is your second or third or fourth try at losing weight. People who are successful at changing bad habits almost always need a number of tries before they can really do it.
While you diet, it is good to ease up on yourself in other areas of your life. Don’t try to change too many habits at once. Just concentrate on changing your eating and relax other restrictions on yourself.
Losing weight requires a serious effort. So put your diet and all that goes with it at the top of your priority list for each day. Give it the attention it needs and you will be your own weight loss success story.

1. Start with healthy slimming or green tea or other foods that have digestive enzymes and vitamins to cleanse the toxins from your body.
2. Examine your current eating habit and stop consuming those with negative effects on your weight loss plan.
3. Find a book of calories and learn what type of food that will help you lose weight.
4. Sweat it out at sauna sessions or aerobics.
5. Invest in a trampoline and jump for 5 to 10 minutes a day.
6. Watch your consumption of foods that have alot of carbo, refined sugar and fat, resist temptations to snack on potato chips, chocolates and sodas. Cut down on red meat. Eat in
moderation.
7. Downsize your dinner plate, the less food that is served to you, the less you will eat. The same goes for liquid with the exception of water.
8. Brisk walking daily for 30 to 45 minutes. By a pedometer and aim for 1,000 steps a day.
9. Find opportunities to burn calories by running up the stairs instead of the elevator or run
errands for people or offer to
10. Eat slowly and calmly, if you eat slow enough your brain will eventually tell you that you are no longer hungry.
11. Do not allow yourself to skip meals and go hungry, this only makes you consume more in your next meal.
12. Drink lots of water, at least 8 glasses a day.
13. Do other form of exercises that you enjoy like badminton, tennis,swimming and do it regularly.
14. When doing your groceries, pick low-fat foods, like milk, cheese, cream, butter , yoghurt etc.
15. Snack on fruits, celery and carrots.
16. Eat more at home as you have better control over what and how much you eat.
17. Be mindful of your salad dressing, the type and how much.
18. People tend to over-eat when they are depressed or stressed, so be mindful to indulge in comfort-food when you feel down.
19. Place notes at strategic locations for eg on the fridge door that reminds you that you are
trying to lose weight.
20. Increase metabolism by eating more frequently but in smaller amount.
21. Reward yourself after each weekly success. Indulge but don’t pig-out!

    can i please ask you for some advice?
    i have a thicker muscular body. there is some flab on my inner thighs and butt, but i am not fat. still, i want to look thin. skinny. im afraid that my body wont ever be slender. maybe by body frame is too…wide?
    is there a way that i can lose all the fat in my legs and mid section and just have lean muscle with no bulk?
    i have got to be skinny.

      Marsi, I’m a pretty big-boned girl, also. Just the way my family is. However, this is not a reason to stay fat. Not at all. I’m not as thin as I could go, but I have a BMI of about 18 (what’s yours?), and I have the widest shoulders and hips out of any of my friends.

      You need to exercise. A lot. Watch your diet and eat only lean foods. I suggest becoming vegan- eat mostly green foods, like spinach, and beans. Eat your foods raw, or steam them if you must cook them. (Also a great reason to not eat much in front of family and friends)

      If there is any “flab” on your inner thighs and butt, you are fat. Thin people do not have flab. You may not be overweight, but you could be skinnier.
      Between a very, very lean diet and a lot of exercise, you will be very thin and lean, muscular but not flabby.

Flab, or fat is legitimately necessary and while I think y’all are crazy I really hope none of you share the same opinions that @madtownwigirl does because it only means you’ll probably die too. Although, if you share in her opinion and are purposefully starving yourself, giving up food, THROWING IT UP, while children all over the world are dying from it then you are awful.       I know it’s been a year, but I’d still like to answer your question. Try some toning exercises; you won’t even need any equipment. Do squats, leg lifts and lunges for your legs. Push ups and chair dips for you arms. Planking for your core. You don’t need a gym or weights, just a carpet and your own body weight 🙂 Also, eat less and make what you do eat count. Think of going vegetarian, or vegan like me!

      Drink green tea and lots of water, raw veggies/fruit, non-dairy products like soy yogurt (120 cals), Bocca Burgers (90 cals each!) and try substituting fresh juices (no sugar added!) for meals whenever you can. Fluids flush out your body and get rid of toxins. Have a chocolate craving? Drink some chocolate Hazelnut milk (about 120 cals) instead of having some low-quality chocolate. And even though it’s a treat, you’re still getting calcium from the non-dairy milk!

      Between a healthier diet, fewer calories and toning excerises, you’ll be looking thinner and leaner in no time! One more thing: get out in the sun as much as possible. A tan makes you look thinner. Walk as much as possible, even if it’s just a block or two everyday– that’s something. And, of course, always take the stairs.

      if you are trying to lose fat but keep the muscle just do cardio and strength training. cardio will take the flab away but leave the muscle i suppose if the muscle is genetic. if you cut out protienes and other muscle building nutrients then your shoulders might slim down a little bit. i tried being vegan because i wanted to lose weight and it only made me lose my muscles but i was still chubby lol so cardio or yoga could help with the flab. if you build muscle in the parts you want to lose the most weight then itll burn away faster. just a tip. so i hope this helped.

      Do cardio wear sweats and wrap your problem areas in plastic garbage bags. You have to stay persistent though. and watch your calorie and carb in take like the blogger said its best if you eat fruits and vegetables high in fiber, whenever I eat my meal for the day I make sure to eat something alive (fruit/vegetable) before and after and drinks loads of water. seriously the quicker you flush your system the better.

      Well you should do a lot of squats and ab workouts at home. That does the trick. Start out with 30 day challenges. Eating healthy is also a big part in losing the extra ‘flab’ on you body. Green tea and lemon water are great as well. Good luck and remember to take it easy and enjoy it 🙂

      Well if your body is made up of muscles try to do 45 minutes of moderate-intensity cardio the first thing every morning before breakfast. Also try stretching your body. Indulge in flexibility exercise. Stretching keeps your muscles lean and stops you from bulking up, like in ballerinas. If you can, cut down carbs.

      Raybear13, As I mentioned to Marsi, you should try a special diet. I would recommend becoming a raw-food vegan. This means that you cannot eat any animal product or anything cooked. The options are pretty limited as to what you can eat- and damn near all of them are healthy. This gives you an excuse not to eat all the shit that will get you fat- the shit your family/friends will expect you to eat.

      You can say you are a raw-food vegan for animal rights, because raw foods have more nutrients, or for the environment- it takes a lot less resources to eat plants than animals. Whichever excuse you decide, stick to it.

      Now, while your family is noshing on cheetos, you can nosh on carrots, without them badgering you to eat a cheeto.

      Yeah! I have a few of those tips…
      Ok so when you have to eat with parents you should put a plastic baggie in your pockets. That way you can put bits of food in there and throw it away when you’re ‘done’ eating. I use that trick quite a bit, and it really works! For me atleast…

      Also you can use the opaque cup trick which is basically when you get a cup that isn’t see-through and you spit the chewed up food into it. But be careful, whenever you chew the food and spit it out you still get 15% of the calories in the food.

      you can just say youre trying to be vegan or vegitarian. or just say you havent been feeling well. and if you come home to supper just say that you just ate but come sit with them and be polite. if you take a bite and say “ya im too full” it may sound a little more convincing 🙂

      tell them you already ate earlier and know what it is that you “ate” put wrappers in the trash can. chew gum and drink water around them. Or talk about the big meals that you ate that day that have made you feel extremely full.

      Try to take food to your room. Keep a seperate trash can or box that you can hide the food in and empty it once you have the chance. If they seem to suspect anything take a bite in front of them but DON’T swallow then spit it out once you’re in your room.

      I have been bulimic but have been trying to steer away from it and go more towards restricting….how were you able to maintaining the 2-3 meals a week regimen. Whenever I try my thoughts and mind are constantly centered around food, and although euphoric at certain moments I get easily depressed and discouraged. Could you give me some tips?

We dont pop up randomly on little kids my little pony websites. people dont find these websites by mistake, they find them on purpose.         okay, so like, I get you guys want to lose weight, but the people who come on here are honestly trying to help you. Anorexia Nervosa is not a diet, it’s a mental disorder, and just because you dont eat a lot does not mean you have Anorexia. I have Anorexia Nervosa, and some days I eat a lot. The thing is, I feel like food controls my life and dominates me, and I want to purge after eating anything. I lie and say im sick so I can skip meals. My weight has become my salvation. And honestly, I get wanting to be thin, you know, good on you ALL for wanting to lose weight if thats what you really want. But my god, do it in a healthy way. Did you know that your organs can shut down, you wont be able to reproduce, your teeth will decay, and your bones will become weak? Did you know that once you start eating normally again, you’ll gain weight rapidly because you stopped eating? I bet that you didn’t. If you do it in a healthy way the weight will stay off. Do it in a healthy way. Don’t make this mistake and end up in a hospital for the rest of your life. Take it from someone who knows. “Ana” is not cute, its not fun, admirable, and it most certainly is not a diet. It’s a mental disorder I’m so fucking sick and tired of people glorifying. Anorexia almost killed my brother, and it almost killed me, and it is not something to be glorified. So go ahead, think anorexia is beautiful and wonderful. But I’m just saying, I’d listen to the girl who has the mental disorder. I’d listen to the girl who’s brother was in the hospital with the disorder. It fucking sucks.

      this isnt really as bad as alot of other sites so just stay calm. i never became anorexic be3cause of some dumb site. i dont think anyone has. thew behaviour is simular to anorexics but if you wanted to look like your favourite athlete wouldnt you follow their diet and exersise routine? if someone wants to look like skin and bones the place to look is where people know how to get there. and the only reason you cant become this small with a normal diet is because they are supposed to make you healthy thin. anorexic thin is harder to maintain and here is where you learn to get the will power to get there as well.

      dont just go all out no food until im thin thinking. you need to go down on your cal intake slowly or its too hard. normally a cheerleader needs aprox 2500 cals a day. so go down to 2000 cals for 3 days. then down to 1500 cals for 3 days. and then down to 1000 cals a day. then 500. and then to 100 because 500 cals is just one big meal. and it will be easier to keep going on later in life as well

      Dont stop eating just control what and how much you eat. wait until you’re desperately hungry to eat something light less than 600 cal and drink lots of fluids(water particularly) for substitutes to meals. keep busy to burn calories and keep your mind occupied so you wont think about food.

    i just ate one very small bowl of rice in three days and then today i went mad and like snacked on everything when i got in from school, chips and cupcakes and i went so sick at myself later and it would come up and so i cut. i really don’t want to cut again, does anyone have any more tips for lasting longer?

        This is wrong guys. For many reasons. 1. Your body will be missing out on a lot of nutrients. 2. You need a variety so that doesn’t happen. 3. You have to eat regularly so you don’t ‘binge’ afterwards. Your body will go crazy if you don’t give a cheat day where you can eat other stuff. Becoming vegan is also great as long as you’re getting enough protein for growth and repair.

      wean yourself to lower amounts of food. and mints can really help you to soothe cravings or hunger pains. im sorry you experienced that 😦 i never could go more than a day without food. i would come home and pray that i could hold on the next day but every fucking night i would basically binge on popcorn and eggs and raw hot dogs, muffins, chips, milk…anything in the cupboards. its hard. but you just need to take it day by day. if you have to eat something, eat something but know that its going to be okay and that you can start again. but cutting shouldnt be the answer. just please forgive yourself next time 😦 im worried for you. ill pray for you to be able to get through this next time much more gracefully.

      If u cant stand ot any more and feel like u need to ear drik chicken broth it will make u feel full and its only 5 cal, u can burn that off by just breathing, then drink 32 oz of water, it makes u feel super full,

      If you have trouble avoiding meals I would suggest you to make excuses and if that’s not helpfull anymore… you could try to purge… at least you’ll feel better… I don’t know if ill be helpfull, I hope so 🙂

        I find that reducing calories, and exercising, using self control, is the best way to get thin, and remain thin, without damaging the body. Too low calories reduces muscle mass. The heart is a muscle, and over time, can be damaged by lack of proper nutrients. I am supportive of this sight, but not to the point of it being done in an unhealthy way. One can very easily eat between 500 and 800 cal. a day, be thin, and still be healthy.

    Hey Maria! This worked for me 11 lbs down in 2.5 weeks.. Breakfast: 1 scoop of Plain Barndad’s Fiber DX (50 cal) (can get at GNC or Vit shoppe.). 1 cup cold unsweetened almond milk (35 cal) w crushed ice (all in blender for 3 min) 1/4 cup plain canned pumpkin (25 cal) and 1 tsp sf/ff pudding 25 cal…This blows up so huge that you won’t be hungry for like 7 hours. It gets me from 6:00 am till 2-3 pm or longer for only 135 calories. I also put in vanilla extract and cinn and splenda..then for the rest of the day I only eat (grilled w/ pam) vegetables..green zucchini, asparagus… unlimited (great diuretic) with salt free mrs. dash… I hope this helps!!

Eating disorders are the result of very real, very deep unhappiness, and please try to have some compassion for yourself and understand that nobody deserves to go through what you are putting yourself through. Please, please please please, find someone to confide in about this who may be able to help the pain that is causing it, like a close friend or family member, or even call an eating disorders hotline or talk to your doctor. Recovery is possible, even if you have grown up with your eating disorder and lived with it for longer than you have lived without it. Things can get better.

    So, I’m around 5’7 and 134 lbs….last I checked. I’ve been able to go a couple of days without eating, but then my dad makes something that I KNOW is super delicious and I break. And I have this issue: at night, I sometimes get really bad Restless Leg Syndrome, can’t sleep, it pisses me off so much, and then I go and I eat. I try to make myself throw up after, but I can’t seem to do it – and then my throat’s sore 😦 Any tips? Also, a buddy would be really helpful.

      I would encourage you to really watch the calorie intake, between 500 to 800, so your metabolism won’t get to a snail speed. The bulimia that i had, ruined my teeth to the ring of 17.000 dollars…..Try not to use bulimia as a way to reduce weight.

    I forgot to add, I started out at 205 lbs but have lost some weight by being on low carb for the past bit <10 carbs per day. A typical day for me is 4 oz of broccoli, cauliflower, and carrot mixture (4 carb) with 1 tblsp of manzeritti ranch (.5 carb) for breakfast, 2 cups of Romaine lettuce (1 carb) with 1 tblsp of ranch (.5 carb) 6 pepperoni (0 carb) 1/2 tblsp of bacon (0 carb) and 2 oz of chicken breast (.5 carb) for lunch, 2 boiled eggs, whites only (0 carb) and 2 slices of bacon (0 carb) for dinner. And I drink a lot of water throughout the day.

      Wow, there is not a flying chance I would eat that much, regardless of carbs. I go by calories. I’d skip ranch dressing altogether and eat the veggies plain. I can’t remember the last time I ate pepperoni or bacon- both which are insanely high in fat and calories.
      Eat few calories and little fat throughout the day. I recommend oatmeal and lowfat high protein yogurt and veggies. Very little serving sizes of those keep you really full all day.
      Get the fat out of your diet and you’ll get the fat out of you.

        I kinda agree with you….. the bacon is bad! eliminate ranch dressing too!! But eliminating all fats is also not good: your skin and hair will suffer. I use only coconut oil, and am losing weight!!

      Rose- tell your family you are trying out a vegan diet or raw food diet. Vegan diet uses no animal products at all (so you can do it because it’s much better for the environment or for animal rights, whatever). Raw food diet is just straight up raw foods. Dehydrated foods mostly too. So no more food cooked it fats or anything like that. No pre-packaged stuff like chips or crackers. You get the idea. Or maybe try a paleo diet excuse. Look up ideas, but stick to it or your fam will really get suspicious.

    To all you gals (and fellas) who are looking for ana and mia tips- I’ve seen lots of posts telling us how terrible it all is and how we’re ruining our bodies. I have no worries for all of you, since I’m betting almost all of you are wanna-rexics. True sufferers of eating disorders have no problems starving themselves: they are truly mentally ill and can’t keep from doing so. It’s not a matter of control; it’s a matter of insanity.

    So, that being said, if you all are interested in crash diets, I’ll give you tips, because I don’t think you all have real eating disorders. Sorry for the harshness. Real folks with ED’s don’t need a damn tip on how to hide it from families or making up excuses. They are straight-up mentally ill and the disorder rules their lives.

    Please keep on trying to be thin (we’ve got too many damn obese people around), but don’t claim you’re anorexic. Anorectics don’t have to try.

      omg i had the exact same problem when i was younger. not anymore cause i eat more now. I really feel for you, it was so annoying especially in class. I dont have a lot off tips thou, i cant remember what i did to make it stop, just remembering sitting all tens <—– (dont know how that´s spelled) trying to somehow muffle it. it was barely even growling just different weird noises coming from my stomach.

      I dont know just try eating someting small like half an apple when your stomach is protesting to much. i Think that´s what i used to do. How often do you experience trouble with your stomach growling? is it all day or around some specific time sort off? (sorry for the bad English)

      phoebe: you want to have a sustainable diet- meaning you don’t want to drop a ton of weight immediately and put it all back on in a year. You want to be skinny and pretty forever, right?

      You say you have crappy eating habits.. I’m reading that as you eat junk food a lot. So start cutting everything you eat in half. Example: you typically have 2 sodas a day so you’d reduce that to one. After a month or so of half reduction, lower your intake by half again, until you eliminate all the junk food you have been eating.

      You need to learn to get full off of veggies and low-cal options. Swap out the deep dish pizza for a thin crust and some salad. You get it. Phase out the high cal foods and pump up your diet with whole grain fiber, lean protein, and colorful veggies.

      Being pro-ana is great, but you’ll lose your freaking mind (literally). Try to eat healthy, just lower amounts. You’ll see results. Believe me. And drink a lot of water. A lot. (drinking a glass of water will keep you from munching on snacks, too) Drinking water actually helps you to keep from being bloated (which starving, aka ana, causes, making you look fatter), since it flushes toxins and salts out of your body. I highly suggest 8 glasses a day of water. It will keep your bowels moving too. (gross, I know, but even grosser is not being able to take a poop for over a week because you eat and drink so little on a pro-ana “diet”)

      Good luck losing weight. I was a chubby kid, and I know how much it sucks. Eat healthy; don’t starve. You don’t want to be that weirdo whose hair is falling out, looks sickly, and refuses to eat with everyone else, which will surely happen if you really follow Ana. Just be smart eating. Don’t be a moron and starve.

      Chloe98 and Skylar: First off, your hair looks terrible because of poor nutrition and your teeth look terrible because of the extra acid from purging.

      So, I must first say you need to pump up your diet with some nutrition to get shiny hair again. You can eat a lot of foods (mostly veggies) that are really nutritious and VERY low in calories. I suggest beans, green veggies, and low/no fat dairy. . Your teeth will thank you also.

      If you insist on not eating nutritious food, at least take a complete vitamin and rinse your mouth out very well after purging (DO NOT BRUSH) and eat an antacid tablet (TUMS) or swish some baking soda/water mix around instead of mouthwash. You need to counter the acid from your stomach from purging.

      Please, just eat more veggies. You can stay SUPER THIN and still eat, you just have to eat smarter.

      @Robyn, You are not at all fat. Your Body Mass Index (BMI) is on the very low side of 19. Overweight does start until a BMI of 25. You would have to gain almost 2.5 stones to reach this level. You are very thin now, and you have room to gain a little bit and still be thin and beautiful.

      @Natasha: You do not need to be a vegetarian to stay thin. You can eat very normal and healthy and be thin. Try to eat a lot of colorful vegetables (steamed or grilled, not doused in sauce) and lean proteins (like salmon and chicken breast). Keep track of your calories and stay near the 2,000 average. Start getting active, by walking or jogging for a half-hour everyday, along with toning exercises like ab and arm workouts.

      With a light diet and moderate exercise, you can be thin, healthy, and beautiful.

      You are close (if not already) in high school, and this is a very trying time. Do not fall into bad eating habits. Go for being fit and strong, not anorexic and sickly.

        @Natasha: If eating unhealthy makes you feel bad, then try eating something HEALTHY. Try to eat better, not less. If you start to eat nutritious food you will have a lot more energy to do all those ab workouts to make your stomach flat and toned.

        Don’t give up… you just have to put some effort into making your body fit and strong.

        @Natasha: Sorry to add more… but I really can’t stress how important it is to exercise and be fit and not just starve to lose weight. I used to be very fat. I’ve lost almost 80lbs. that’s almost another person. But I didn’t exercise or eat well, and now I’m thin but my skin is saggy and gross. I have a droopy ass and a loose skin everywhere. I have the body of a 65yr old and i’m 24. You don’t want to look like me. Because now, no matter how much I work out, I’m already doomed to be saggy and not hot. So please, if you really want to look good, do it the healthy way and eat right and exercise. I really wish I wouldn’t have been so damn stupid and done it that way instead of just not eating altogether.

    hi, im puerto rican so by default I have big thighs, legs and butt. I started a healthy weight loss journey back in february and began to see results but i’ve never been an exercise person so its taken forever. some people say i look skinner, but i feel as shitty and fat as always. two months ago I drunkenly sprained both of my ankles and my right foot when I took a tumble wearing 5inch heels and so obviously I had to stop exercising (which I had began to improve my routine) and im still not recovered. doctors say it will take a couple of months… well i can’t deal with that… i be can eating like 1300 calories a day, and most of them came from fruits and vegetables because I decided to go vegetarian/vegan-ish. well its been two months from that and I feel the same so i’ve started vomiting. i recognize that this is bad, but i really want to loose weight and especially don’t want to gain weight while im sedentary and recovering my ankles. i want to know how can i loose weight as fast as possible, i’ve become so depressed and can’t stand looking at myself in the mirror even though I do so like 100 times a day. my boyfriend says im beautiful and that i’ve never look better, but i feel like sometimes that makes me feel worse because he pities me. tips? advice? HELP!

      @strugglecity: I would just love to have your Puerto Rican complexion and curves (remember- those are good)! Not being able to walk much is no excuse for not being fit and exercising- There are wheelchair bound Olympians!

      I would suggest doing some ab and arm workouts. These are easily accomplished while sitting down. If you have a gym membership, you could hit up the rowing machine to get an arm workout and some cardio also. If you do have the option of a gym, there are always trainers and experts around that would be happy to help you find workouts that don’t involve straining your feet/ankles.

      Please try to stop purging food. This leads to dehydration, slow bowels, rotten teeth, and a whole slew of other things. I’m a pro at bulimia, and I wish I had the mindset to stop but it’s like an addiction. Your body needs good nutrition to heal properly.. so by throwing up you are slowing down the healing process, postponing the exercising, making you throw up more, etc. etc.

      So, Break the habit before it really develops, and stay motivated to get/stay in shape the healthy way. You will be the last person to notice how great you look, so believe others when they tell you how thin you are getting! Good luck 🙂

      K so you asked for mean so i’ll just tell u how much i weigh… i am 14 yrs old, 5ft 0in. and weigh 91 pounds… and absolutely terrified of gaining weight. i want to go down to 85… that would be great but highly unlikely since my parents are forcing me to eat a lot….so hopefully that maybe motivates you. i guess a normal weight for people around our height is 105-110. calculate your bmi and look at the charts to see what percentage you fall into, that helps to give you a boost of reality.

    Hey, its me again, and as you know im fairly new to this, but does anyone else have dizzy spells? I mean like, when i stand up or stretch with my eyes closed, everything sorta goes black, i feel really dizzy and its like my heads has a race track in it (sounds kinda like heavy rain). I can still kinda see whats around me, but its mostly black spots in my vision. It only lasts for a few seconds and it feels reeeaally wierd 🙂 I started with ana earlier this year (me thinks the start/middle of the summer) and im finding it easier to restrict food 🙂 Im 5ft and 115, any tips?

    Hi there, I am very interested in losing 20 lbs in 6 weeks. Do you think this is do-able? I have just one dilemma , my finances family is middle eastern and are the sweetest family ever and live across the street but they get offended when you don’t eat all of your plate and they always serve you . You don’t serve yourself. We see them once a week about and if we don’t then they always make me feel bad and ask where I’ve been. For example before a huge meal of rice, they will offer like 5 pieces of toast with cheese or a bagel and to me that is even a meal, then after dessert and if I don’t eat then they go on and on how I don’t eat. I know to be successful I can’t do this to lose that much weight HELP!

    I’ve always thought it a sign of weakness to ask for help but I feel I’m losing the strength to motivate myself to lose more weight. I am 5ft 1 and I weight 103 pounds. My difficulty is that I have a sugar addiction and my way of coping with fatigue, stress, anxiety (and even joy) is to eat… I know that I feel so much better when I am fasting but it’s difficult to move past that emotional attachment to food.     I was ana for a few years, but it never really helped me. Actually, unless you get yourself down to one or two bites of food a day, limiting food just ends up making you gain weight. A *$Y&$ *##@ of weight. (Not to mention I fainted a lot and my grades tanked) I lost fifty pounds the first year I starting eating food again. Now I eat 3/4 a cup of food every two hours. It’s still an unhealthy relationship with food, but I’m thinner and I’m not malnourished anymore. But these tips are still really useful for me.

    And yes, I’ll be the first to admit I’m ill, or ‘sick’ as many visitors have said. But this site has much healthier alternatives to help an ana person soothe their need to control their food without being as deadly as other site’s tips. Though the bulimia page should be avoided, because once you start your body will easily throw up even if you someday decide to quit.

      You are losing hair, because your body is depleted of nutrients. I lost nearly all my hair. Not eating had caused my thyroid to stop working. Now, I focus on everything I put in my mouth, and make better choices. I’m not cured from ana, but getting better at dealing with it. The day you eat a little bit, take vitamins (biotin) and accept that it’s ok to eat a bit, and be ok, even if you aren’t 80 pounds, is the day your hair will stay on….I’m def. not cured, but better. No more bulimia. (17.000$ in dental work cured me of that…) Good luck…..
      Also best to not worry about styling it. That stresses out the hair. Just wash and wear till your body gets stronger.

    Honestly..these tips suck. Want real ProAna tips? Spend about 6 months in inpatient. Yes, you may gain some weight.. but when you get out, you’ll know the fastest and most effective ways to lose weight and finally achieve your goal. But when you achieve your goal, it still won’t be good enough because you’ve now seen better anorexics who weigh less and look “better” than you. Maybe that 60 year old lady who paces in the hallway in her pajama’s and tennis shoes will inspire you. Or maybe it will be the mom of 3 kids who still refuses to eat even though her husband and children will not talk to her because she’s chosen “ANA” over her own family. Oh… even better inspiration.. how about the young girl who has bald patches and a feeding tube taped to her face? When she cries at the end of the meal because she can’t get herself to finish a salad. Maybe she’s gotten SO GOOD/TOO GOOD at what you guys call “pro ana tips”. Maybe the screaming, yelling, meds, doctors, therapists, security guards, dietitians, pacing and shaking patients will “inspire” you to keep all of your ProAna motivation up.
    My message to you is that anorexia and bulimia isn’t something you can turn off and on. Your food rules may start out as something you write down…learn, follow and live by but then soon enough, they take over your every thought. Think you won’t get sick enough to end up in treatment? Sometimes it isn’t a choice. You’re medically unstable and plenty of people are held against their will (psych hold) to stay there until doctors say otherwise. You don’t see the “best anorexics” around because they’re all in inpatient trying to figure out how they can undo all of this. But you can’t undo it. You can’t unlearn all of these tips and tricks. You’ll have to learn how continue living with them there always in the back of your head. Best wishes y’all.

      some of us work out as well as don’t eat, we do it to be skinny, pretty and to finally feel like we are worth something. I eat 100-200 calories a day and burn 1,000. i know its dangerous and i know its bad. we are not choosing to be like this..to feel fat or disgusting. we cant help it because don’t you think if we could we would ? we don’t want food controlling our life but for some people its too late..

    My name is Aimee and I have anorexia. I’m 5’6 and 97lbs. I do not subscribe to these rules, I drink about a liter of water a day and eat 100g of sugar. I also take supplements for lots of different things, but because I don’t consume any fat my body can’t process them and I have very low bone density and anemia. My 12 remaining teeth are rotten and my hair is brittle and falls out all the time. I do not recommend this.

    I tried this once and my Mom found out because I wrote the amount of calories I ate and the word Fat on my hand and she saw it. I’m not going to do that this time (I’m not that stupid) but now, I just can’t lose weight! When I wake up, I have a flat stomach, but after 1 meal, it bulges! I can’t eat less than that because my mom eats with me and I can’t say I’m sick or that I already ate or that I’m not hungry because she’ll see right through me! (My mom is super smart) What do I do? If I keep eating, I’ll keep gaining weight!

      Your tummy bulges out, because your metabolism is so slow, that you develop gasses, from your system (pipes) not being used regularly. Eat low calories, more often, and you will be thin, with no buldge…!!

    Please don’t stop eating…. just eat good stuff like veggies (no dressing) and very little fruit, high in sugar, and no carbs. For protein, eat an egg, or a low fat cheese string. I don’t know how tall, and how much you weigh, so….. eating a lot, and making good choices, keeps the metabolism going. If you stop eating, your body thinks its starving, and will hang on even more to the fat…..
    By the way I have an ED too. Just learning how to be smart about it.

    Hey it kinda feels weird coming back to this world after been Ana free for a year. A part of me is happy that I’ve found my old friend, I have seriously let myself go and now I’m ready to take control and do something about it. I want to get back to my skinny self, right now I’m the heaviest I have ever been and it feels gross. I was so happy when I originally reached my 45kg goal and I want to feel like that again. Right now I’m 68kg and I need some serious help. Its harder to loose weight this time especially as I live with my boyfriend and he loves food. He is also aware of my battle with Ana and is always so suspicious. Out of sphere desperation I have been purging but I cannot continue to do that I am an Ana girl and its my vice I just need help hiding it any ideas would be much appreciated.

    Hey guys I wouldn’t say I’m ana anymore but I’m 6ft tall and at one point I was below 8 st I’m now 9 stone I put on weight because my mum had cancer and all she wanted was for me to look and be healthy she was so worried about me, I have managed to mantain my weight but I’m not happy! Far from it my hips and ribs still jut out but I feel fat I came on here to see how u guys are dealing with your body and it has made me feel a little better as I’m not the only one! I can’t believe some of you are so young I’m 28 and there’s been posts from 15 year olds upwards I guess this is getting more common, I suppose I was just feeling a little bit lost family don’t understand at all x

    Also I’d like to add I know there’s a lot of people out there that will think that this site is bad and its encouraging eating disorders but I personally don’t think that, I’m trying so hard to get over mine! I just want to be healthy and have a long happy life but I do think it helps to talk to people in the same position as you, even though family are meant to be your rock and the ones you trust, sometimes its just difficult to talk about especially ana or bulimia, it makes you feel like your not the person you used to be it consumes your life, and if there are people out there that are going to give good or maybe bad advise its up to that person what they want to do with that advice who’s seeking it

    I’ve moved from 22 to a 20.44 BMI in about 2months. Super depressing because my target is 16 and if I keep going at this pace I’ll only reach my target in about 4 months, at which point I will no longer be on holiday and it won’t matter how great I look in my bikini. Any tips on how to accelerate the process? I’m on a strict liquid diet at the moment, and when I cheat, I cheat on plain pop corn and coke. I suppose cutting the coke out completely might be a good start considering how much its sugar content is. Still please send suggestions my way

    The best way to lose weight, IMO, is reduce SOME calories but increase the amount of *nutrition* in those calories. Empty calories are a once-in-a-while treat that can be incorporated into a healthy diet. Protein can help towards making you feel sated on less. That’s how I’ve been doing it. I’m trying for a steady loss of 2 lbs. a week and stopping at 120 (I’m a 5’4″ female).

    Being muscular isn’t all bad. In fact, some desire it. However, if you don’t want to be that way, quit exercising your legs so much and eat just a little bit less to compensate for your reduced movement.

    “[T]he Ana diet”, as you call it, must be halted at a point where you can still STAY ALIVE. Yes, it will eventually get rid of those muscles, but YOU WANT TO BE SLIM, NOT *DEAD*. The thing is, the *mindset* ANOREXIA NERVOSA teaches (let’s call it what it is, folks) becomes a hard-to-break habit. It is a PATTERN OF THINKING, an attitude towards food that MAY HARM YOU IN THE LONG RUN. That is what an EATING DISORDER is.

    I do not recommend this route (“ana”/”breatharianism”/”starvation diet”/whatever) but I know that if I were to completely flame this you would not listen at all. In fact, it might make you feel more like defending it. I can only attempt to offer my feelings, facts and guidance in a way that is not forceful or judgmental or drives you all away. Maybe I’ve failed. I’m sorry, if that’s the case, so very, very sorry, but it is your body and your choice, ultimately.

    Hi skinny lizzie I suffer from same thing salt def makes it worse and alcohol, I’ve found best thing is I drink tonnes of water during the day at least 1.5 litres maybe irll have a apple and in the evening when I finesh work I have maybe a pork chop and salad or a piece of salmon nothing too fatty or salty, I have quite a phisical job so that helps but usually I do a lot of sit ups, I don’t starve myself because that makes things worse its almost like ur body clings to its last fat reserves and it bloats ur stomach who knows I’m no doctor, but this helps me achive my desired look

    Hi!
    I’m 23 now, 59 Kg and I have never been thin. I have puked in the past and lost weight but then I easily gain it back. Now I struggle purging because my oesophagus bleeds and it hurts, so I want to try to focus more on an Ana lifestyle.
    I need help to focus on it and be serious and don’t go to the food as easy as I go… Because I am “normal” or even overweight if you compare me with other girls in Instagram or the models of shops and I want to be like them.

    My problem is not how to hide my family not to eat, my problem is with myself.
    Any advice? Would you recommend me any other more specific blog to talk about it?

    Last year i weighted 145 i used to exercise a lot bacj then but now I’m depressed and I’ve had food as comfort i at least want to lose 30 pounds in two months. I always skip lunch because I am at school but I can’t skip dinner or back fast because they are watching. My mom and dad cook for me every day for both meals and I can’t avoid eating them.       I’m am the same age as you and am in the exact same situation. Last month I managed to lose like 15 pounds but when my mom realized i had an ED she started watching everything i eat. She even eats lunch with me sometimes. I regained all the weight and am now 120 pounds for 5’8.. I recommend going out as much as you can, idk if it will work, maybe your parents are as stict as mine. But just saying you’re going at the library for the night can help you skip dinner. for breakfast there’s not much you can do but home made smoothies are easy to digest, and drinking a green tea afterwards helps!

      hey, so not eating from the start isn’t easy and isn’t a great idea either. Your metabolism will like panic and will store all the cals and carbs of the next meal you eat. What I recommend is a small homemade smoothie for breakfast ( with almond milk if possible because the normal one has carbs) and a green tea after. For lunch, a handful of nuts. (the green tea cuts the appetite so its a perfect portion) For supper, idk cuz my mom makes me eat anything she cooks but a salad with a good dressing, not to much fat and all, is perfect. after a while you stomach will have gotten smaller and you’ll need less food to fill it so you’ll be able to skip meals without problem. but don’t skip breakfast!!!

    I need a buddy! I’ve been ana in the past and now more recently I can’t control my food intake and it leads to purging. I don’t want to do that but I don’t have any one who understands how hard it can be throughout the day.     I don’t think my bf likes when I eat he says he likes me how I am but I don’t eat.       You are at a healthy weight for your height!!! Tell your doctor, a dietician and a therapist if you think you’re overweight. Going online for tips IS NOT helpful. I did that and it WRECKED my health. They can help you out. You are worth it.❤

    Hey I’m stuck at a disgusting 143.5lbs and I’ve been restricting tried purging but couldn’t and I would stop eating altogether but I am a diabetic. So if I stop eating then my blood sugar would go low and I could possibly die. And theres no way I am dying in this ugly, fat body. Any tips??

One of my friends who had anorexia at one point got kidney issue so bad she had to go to the hospital. Now with a good diet I’m better. You can get peach hairs all over your body.     I need major advice. I was sent to CHOP hospital and now they tube feed me when I refuse food if I don’t eat what is put in front of me at home. I am not supposed to do any kind of activity other than walking but instead I am running 30 minutes daily even when I’m not supposed to and doing ab workouts 2-3 times a day along with lifting. But how do I hide food at the dinner table? PLEASE HELP ME .

    I’m 15 and half, 5″11, and 140lbs. i really know how everyone on this site feels in the way that we all think we’re not good enough and we need to lose weight. just a tip: it helps to lose weight by getting involved in one or two highly active sports. i play just about every sport, and it’s only made me gain weight, but most people i’ve talked to says that it helped them lose more. i’m really considering dropping every sport altogether and going on a straight water-diet … any tips for how to do that and not let anyone notice?

      Leave plates in the sink/dishwasher with little scraps of food on them and tell them that you ate earlier. It’s pretty foolproof, I’ve been doing it for a long time and no one suspects a thing! Also, don’t go on a water diet, you’ll be constantly weak. Go vegan/vegetarian instead. Btw, the gaining weight is muscle from playing sports.

    Yaya, no one should judge you. It’s not easy to lose weight and a woman naturally has weight and curves. I’ve lost 90 lbs and before that 65 lbs. When you lose weight fast it tends to come back on and then its actually harder to lose it again. Research shows that our set point changes. (darn) Have you seen a Dr? I wish you the best!

    I am a former proana myself and had to go to rehab. They made me gain tons of weight. I weighed 78lbs at 5’7 and now I weigh 125 at 5’7. I HATE MY BODY. I know I’m a fat lard….     Ok, so I know that whoever is coming on this website is coming here to lose weight. Now let me tell you that what you are doing is not a joke.. It is very serious, and I know from experience. I have been suffering with anorexia over two years now. Can you guess my age??? Well, I am sad to say that I just 14. This “illness” as they call it has taken a huge toll on me. I had to live in a hospital, locked unit for 6 months. Let me tell you it is not fun. I refused to eat anything they gave me so they sedated me and put an NG tube in. They didn,t tell me but I knew they were feeding me 3000 calories over night. Still I used to find ways to vomit it out or disconnect the tube over night. Anyway this is not about that. I just here to tell you that I hated every bit of it.. However in so many ways I was wishing that I never had anorexia. I loved it but I hated it. There were two parts of my brain just constantly screaming in my head and they still are, even though i am almost fully weight restored because of treatment. I have to have almost ten pills to control stress every day. I am saying this because I would never, ever want anyone to suffer the way I have, ever. The pain I had to go through in the beginning was the worst kind of torture I could experience. And the things it did to my health are horrendous. When my parents took me to the hospital my heart rate( when I was sleeping was only 24!!!). I am telling you that anorexia and bulimia really messed me up. And i hope whoever you are that you consider my story and think about what you are getting into. And if you are someone who likes to please people or care for people, then i’m telling you this will be extremely hard for your parents and friends to see. You will have thousands of fights and lose many of your friends. Even if you try to hide it they will eventually figure it out.
    I have just told a very personal story the best way I can and I hope that someone, somewhere will benefit from it. It is the scariest, yet still the most thrilling thing I have experienced and I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone even though I want it for myself so badly.. I think thats my eating disorder overpowering myself but anyway. Good luck whoever you are. Think and be smart unlike me,cause I am a really stubborn girl.

    Hey, I’ve been doing pro-Ana and pro-moa for a while. But my parents are on me, telling me to eat and I’m vegetarian atm. I want a flatter tummy, I think I’m 105 pounds but I want to be at least 95, I do gymnastics twice a week also. So my legs are quite muscular. And I want them to slim down a bit.     I think small meals often would actually slow your metabolism 🙂 Other than that, weird site but maybe I’ll use some of these tips to kick this muffin addiction.

    I’ve not eaten for 14 days now can’t sleep but when I look in the mirror I still look fat why won’t it just dissapear

      Either because you’re still fat or, and, just not eating isn’t enough. You need to exercise and then figure out how low to intake once you eat again.

    I am tired and bored of you acting like ana was a diet – if you want to lose weight, stop eating so much and move you fat pigs. If you’re ana you know you need the hunger pain, you like feeling hungry, it makes you powerful to beat the cravings. I am also equally tired of you who email and beg for help and then don’t put in the work or, do what is asked of you, this is for you to become skinny and beautiful not for me to hound you to do what you know you ought to be doing anyway.

    When you post or email me and say “No face pics, no body pics, don’t tell me what to eat, I wont exercise but I want to be skinny by next week” you are a being a deluded idiot. Being skinny takes time and work.

    Why do I want to coach you, because I like to see you suffer, I like seeing skinny women and the more of you there are, the better the world is. So yes, I do require pictures, when we start and weekly checks, and yes I want to see all of you. If you mess up and are punished, then I will need to see proof of that too. I do body checks, I may ask for video – I want you to be and feel humiliated because you’re fat and fat pigs don’t deserve respect or kindness. All of those are for skinny girls who are beautiful and have earned respect. So what do pictures and videos of you have to do with you getting skinny, nothing! If that’s a hassle or worries you, good! Don’t be a pig, don’t eat like a pig, don’t reward yourself with food like you were a dog, and I wont treat you like a piece of meat. But until you’re skinny and beautiful and worthy or respect, I wont respect you – and I will do what I want and you’ll listen because you know no one else cares about your fat, worthless self.

    I don’t want to hear you can’t do this or that because your parents or friends force you to eat or your boyfriend is worried. This is your fat, disgusting body, you need to control and master it – and until you do, I will for you. I’m not a Dom, I am not just collecting pictures. I want to hear about what happened to you, I want to be someone you can turn to and, trust in – you are already sharing this thing with me. But don’t mistake my wanting to help with weakness, if you don’t follow through, if you’re not prepared to check in daily, to turn to me for help, do not email me. If you’re tired of being a pig, and you are really ready to be humiliated until you’re skinny then email me: tormentsyou@gmail.com

    In your email I want: CW, GW, UGW – what you’re doing now to be skinny, and you must include pics of your disgusting body – so that I can laugh at you and then tell you what you’re going to do to stop being a pig.

    Do not waste my time with what you wont do or what’s difficult for you. You’ve read what I asked for, now email or don’t – you’re a pig, stay that way or change.

    Please someone help I need a coach that can message me constantly and be rude and control me I suffer from depression and my life is a.
